Gennaro Rossi - Superfoolish
Here´s another release from Gennaro Rossi, whose affiliation to the Mutekki register was decided a while ago already. Old-school meets electronique Techhouse, that’s how you could characterize the style of the 25 year old talent. His fourth release “Superfoolish” on Mutekki helped him to grow from the former rookie and newcomer to an established artist. The half-italian already showed his skills with his earlier releases on Mutekki. “Bunch / Fanclub”, “Peaks ´n´ Punches / Flatliner” and “Art of Thrill” were supported by numerous well-known DJs. Again, the newest release grooves and pumps with a massive electro bassline as well as pushing and psychotic acid elements and represents another step on the producer career ladder that Gennaro is currently climbing. Simultaneously to this he will soon release singles on Berlin’s Opossum Label, Force Sense and the australian label Wet Musik including a remix by techno-god Joey Beltram. On side B, Robert Babicz, famous for his numerous releases on Kompakt, Treibstoff, Audiomatique or Out Of Orbit Rec., sends us on a 10-minute trip into the world of sound-engineering. Thereby he takes up the main bassline as well as the strings of the original, but, with a lovely attention to detail, he decorates them with further grating sounds and a first class selection of effects, to minute by minute morph himself closer to the breakdown, from whereon there’s no stopping.
